Infrastructure development projects for schools across 29 islands in the Maldives have been contracted today to three state-owned enterprises: Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), and Road Development Corporation (RDC).
Of these projects, 19 were awarded to Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation, 6 to Road Development Corporation, and 4 to MTCC.
The projects contracted to FDC include schools in 5 islands of Gaafu Alifu Atoll, 3 schools in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, 4 schools in Haa Alifu Atoll, 5 schools in Raa Atoll, and 2 schools in Dhaalu Atoll.
RDC was awarded infrastructure works for 2 schools in Haa Alifu Atoll, 2 schools in Raa Atoll, and 2 schools in Kaafu Atoll.
The projects contracted to MTCC cover schools in Raa Atoll, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Shaviyani Atoll, and Faafu Atoll.
Under these projects, a total of 115 classrooms, 19 multi-purpose halls, and 219 education-related facilities are scheduled to be established.
