The Ministry of Education has participated in the National Juvenile Justice Conference 2025, a national-level symposium on juvenile justice. The symposium is being held from May 10 to 12, organized by the Prosecutor General's Office with the assistance of UNICEF.
This is the first national-level conference conducted with the participation of all agencies involved in the juvenile justice system and related civil society organizations. The main objectives of this symposium include finding solutions to issues in the juvenile justice system through professional consultation, and identifying necessary changes to current practices and systems to prevent juvenile delinquency.
Additionally, strengthening and solidifying the relationships between agencies and organizations involved in the juvenile justice system is also an important objective of this symposium.
It is noted that based on the professional consultations and research papers presented at this symposium, a policy recommendation paper will be prepared and submitted to the relevant state institutions for implementation.
The moderator for today's panel discussion was Fathimath Azza, Director General of the Ministry of Education. The panelists included First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed and Nazima Alimaniku, Principal of Muhyiddin School.
