A total of 40 Special Educational Needs (SEN) teachers and 3 officials are participating in the "Maldives SEN Teachers Capacity Building Program," held at KIU University in Sri Lanka from February 9 to 14, 2026.

The primary objective of this program is to enhance the professional expertise of SEN teachers in inclusive education through modern academic knowledge and practical skills. The training specifically focuses on early identification strategies for conditions such as ASD and ADHD, effective classroom management techniques, and fostering collaborative frameworks between parents and specialists.

Throughout the program, the teachers will engage in lectures, specialized workshops, and site visits to clinical and inclusive education centers.

These experiences are designed to provide international exposure and equip educators with practical methodologies that can be effectively implemented within Maldivian schools.
